Vodafone Fiji Bati five-eighth Sitiveni Moceidreke says it has been a long journey to get where he is now.
The Veisesei, Vuda lad who had to be rested due to an injury for the match against Italy in the Rugby League World Cup, said they were glad to put on a performance to make Fiji proud.
“It has been a tough, but a learning journey for me,” he said.
“Getting to meet the young players and playing for my country again, but it is time to focus on my family and see what the future has for me.”
With maternal links to Malake in Ra, the outside back has worn the Fiji Bati jersey on six occasions and was part of the 2017 Rugby League World Cup squad.
Earlier that year he made his NRL debut for the South Sydney Rabbitohs, scoring a try.
He had stints with the North Sydney Bears, Mounties and Wentworthville in the NSW Cup and Sunshine Coast in the QLD Cup.
“It has been an exciting journey and I really enjoyed it especially the team bonding.
“Watching the boys prepare towards the world cup, it was a different atmosphere altogether, working together, training together, worshipping together, and celebrating together it had a huge impact for all of us personally and for that I am grateful to the team.”
He now looks forward to spent time with his family.
