A SKINCARE brand that sources most of its raw materials from Fiji has just entered our local retail market and is now available in major stores like the Tappoo Group.
“Yalo Fiji’s Own” by Yalo Fiji, is a premium natural skincare brand that is made in Australia but showcases Fiji’s rich botanical heritage such as Dilo Oil, Noni and Coconut Oil sourced from local Fijian farms.
According to Shanda Naidu who created “Yalo Fiji’s Own”, the brand has a personal story behind it.
The Taveuni-born and owner of Yalo Fiji, termed the skin care brand as a tribute to her late mother, whose strength, sacrifice and spirit inspired a lifelong dream to empower women and give back to the community.
“The heart of Yalo Fiji is rooted in love, resilience, and the legacy of my mother, a dream that stayed forever in my heart and now drive my purpose,” Ms Naidu said.
In a statement, she said the brand formulates its range of products based on 100 percent natural, cruelty-free, plant based and free from synthetic chemicals parabens or sulfates.
“The range includes nourishing lotions, exotic oils and rejuvenating face creams products that are not only good for the skin but also help preserve Fijian traditions.
The skin care product “Yalo” translates into “Soul” in the itaukei language representing more than a skincare as it embodies empowerment, cultural pride and community uplift.
Yalo Fiji sales distribution manager Shynia Singh said they were proud to bring ‘Yalo Fiji’ into the Fijian market.
“Our products carry not just ingredients from the islands, but the heart and soul of Fiji itself.
“Yalo Fiji is more than just beauty, it’s a social enterprise.
“A portion of each sale goes toward long-term initiatives, including plans to build homes and wellness spaces for elderly across Fiji, starting in Taveuni.”
The company will partner with small, women-led Fijian businesses across its supply and marketing chains and supports community expos and cultural events that celebrate Fijian identity and heritage.
