Fiji Airways has confirmed that all passengers from flight FJ450 which experienced a bird strike shortly after take-off from Christchurch on yesterday have safely departed for Nadi this morning.
In a statement, the national carrier said the safety and well-being of passengers and crew remain its highest priority.
“Our engineers are on the ground in Christchurch carrying out a thorough inspection and necessary maintenance on the aircraft that encountered a bird strike shortly after take-off yesterday,” the airline said.
Fiji Airways thanked affected passengers for their patience and understanding during the delay.
“We acknowledge the efforts of our teams in Christchurch and Nadi for ensuring a smooth travel experience,” the statement said.
