Fiji Airways has launched a new wellness-focused travel programme aimed at improving the wellbeing of passengers and crew during long-haul flights.
The airline announced today that its new “FlyWell” programme would officially begin on June 1, offering a range of science-backed wellness products and recovery experiences onboard selected flights and at the Fiji Airways Premier Lounge at Nadi International Airport.
The initiative will initially target Business Class passengers travelling between Nadi and the North American destinations of San Francisco and Los Angeles.
According to Fiji Airways, the programme combines wearable technology, mental performance drinks, red light therapy and electromagnetic field (EMF) protection systems designed to reduce fatigue and improve recovery during travel.
Managing director and chief executive officer Paul Scurrah said the programme represented a significant step in the airline’s ambition to become the “World’s Happiest Airline”.
“The Fiji Airways FlyWell programme reflects our ongoing commitment to innovation and care,” Mr Scurrah said.
“We set out to create something that genuinely makes a difference to the wellbeing of our guests and crew, going beyond traditional airline offerings with a thoughtfully curated suite of in-flight products and lounge experiences not typically seen in aviation.”
Passengers travelling in Business Class will receive access to a special wellness menu featuring a range of recovery-focused products.
Among them is Firefly Recovery, a wearable device designed to improve circulation and reduce fatigue during long-haul travel.
Travellers will also have access to RA Optics Sunset Lenses, which are designed using circadian science to regulate light exposure and encourage better sleep while flying.
The airline is also introducing “Magic Mind” drinks in two variations — one designed to support deeper sleep and another aimed at maintaining calm focus and energy levels during flights.
Beyond the aircraft cabin, Fiji Airways said it would introduce red light therapy and EMF protection technology throughout its Premier Lounge in Nadi.
The airline claims the lounge will become one of the world’s first EMF-friendly airport lounges.
Performance and recovery specialist Da Rulk, who has been appointed as the airline’s new brand champion, said the initiative aimed to help travellers better manage the physical effects of flying.
“Travel places unique demands on the body, from disrupted sleep to fatigue and constant environmental stress,” he said.
“The Fiji Airways FlyWell programme is about giving people practical, science-backed tools that work with the body, not against it.”
