Fiji Airways has announced a major expansion of its Australian network with the launch of new direct flights between the Gold Coast and Nadi, strengthening air links between Fiji and one of Australia’s fastest-growing regions.
The new service will commence on Thursday, 11 June 2026, operating three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Flights will be operated using the modern Boeing 737 MAX 8, offering a flight time of just over three hours.
The route is expected to inject an additional 53,000 seats into the market each year, improving connectivity and creating more travel options for both leisure and business travellers.
Fiji Airways Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Paul Scurrah said the new route reflects the airline’s strong commitment to the Australian market.
“The Gold Coast is a natural fit for Fiji Airways. It is a thriving hub for tourism, business and major global events, and its population and infrastructure growth make it an increasingly important part of Australia’s future,” Scurrah said.
“This new direct service strengthens ties between Fiji and Australia, unlocking significant opportunities for both outbound and inbound travel.”
He said the service would benefit travellers on both sides of the Pacific.
“We are delighted to offer travellers on the Gold Coast a faster, direct link to Fiji for holidays, family visits and business, while also providing Fijians and international travellers with easier access to the Gold Coast region,” Scurrah said.
“As we pursue our vision to become the world’s happiest airline, we’re excited to bring that spirit to the Gold Coast, pairing our award-winning service with the genuine warmth and care that Fiji is known for.”
To mark the announcement, Fiji’s National Carrier is offering special introductory return Lite fares from Fiji to the Gold Coast starting from FJD$799.
