Fiji Airways has announced temporary operational adjustments on select flights between Fiji and Tuvalu due to a local fuel supply shortage in Funafuti.
In a statement issued yesterday, the national carrier confirmed that it would be uplifting additional fuel from Suva and Nadi to ensure continued service on the affected routes.
The flights impacted include:
-
Thursday, 17 July: Suva–Funafuti and return
-
Saturday, 19 July: Suva–Funafuti and return
-
Monday, 21 July: Nadi–Funafuti and return
“To maintain required aircraft weight limits, we may need to reduce passenger numbers and offload cargo on these flights,” Fiji Airways said.
“The safety of our customers and crew remains our highest priority.”
The airline apologised for any inconvenience caused, noting the situation is beyond its control. Fiji Airways added that it is working closely with local partners in Funafuti to resolve the fuel issue as soon as possible.
Passengers affected by any changes will be contacted directly.
