Fiji Airports rolls out development plans for Nadi & Nausori airports

The next 10 years will be very busy for Fiji Airports as it will undertake 18 projects, said the company in a statement today.

Fiji Airports has signed an agreement with COX Architecture Pty Ltd as its consultant to develop the landside master plan for both the Nadi and Nausori Airports.

The Australian-based architectural company was – awarded the project following a thorough tender process and have carried out infrastructure projects at Singapore’s Changi Airport Terminal 3, the New Delhi International Airport Terminal 3 and the Sydney International Airport.

“The consultant has 32 weeks to complete the scope of works,” said Fiji Airports CEO Mesake Nawari.

“We are excited about the Nadi and Nausori Airports master plan because it will provide diversification opportunities into our non-aeronautical part of our business complementing our core business of Air Traffic and Airport Management.”

This landside master plan will be dovetailed with the 2024 -2048 Nadi Airport airside masterplan.

Fiji Airports has commenced its Nadi airport airside projects and in the next 10 years there will be upgrades to existing facilities and infrastructure, construction of new gates, as well as a new state-of-the-art domestic terminal, extension and construction of new car parking lots and new aerobridges to replace the existing passenger boarding tunnels.

Projects also include departure lounge extension, additional off gate aprons, new gates and domestic apron extension.
