The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption received 407 complaints and recorded 18 successful convictions during the 12 months ending June 2026.
Acting Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Siromi Turaga revealed the figures in a written parliamentary response to MP Jone Usamate.
Mr Turaga said FICAC dealt with 508 investigation files across its Suva, Lautoka and Labasa offices between July 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026.
“The Commission received a total of 407 complaints,” Mr Turaga said.
As of June 30, 182 investigation files remained active, with the majority being handled by the Suva office.
Of these, 125 were in Suva, 29 in Lautoka and 28 in Labasa.
Mr Turaga said another 141 matters were at the prosecution stage.
“In addition, 141 matters were at the prosecution stage. A further 19 matters were before the courts on appeal, bringing the total number of live court matters to 160,” he said.
The 19 appeal matters were recorded separately and were not included in the 141 cases at the prosecution stage.
On court outcomes, Mr Turaga said FICAC secured 18 successful convictions during the reporting period.
“The Commission recorded 18 successful convictions during the reporting period,” he said.
Mr Usamate had asked the Acting Attorney-General to provide Parliament with FICAC’s caseload statistics, including complaints received, investigations, prosecutions and successful convictions for the July 2025 to June 2026 period.
Mr Turaga said the figures reflected FICAC’s caseload and court outcomes for the relevant reporting period.
