Funds raised at the Vodafone Nasinu Festival will be used for solar lighting installations in Nasinu, says chairman of the festival committee and Nasinu Town Council administrator Salesh Kumar.
He said it would also help them continue their work in supporting youth programs and caring for the elderly.
“Funds raised will go toward initiatives like the solar lighting installations that have already brightened streets and public spaces across Nasinu, making our neighbourhoods safer and more accessible,” Mr Kumar said.
“It also helps us continue our work in supporting youth programs and caring for our elderly, ensuring that no one in our community is left behind.”
He said they are working with their partners to ensure their infrastructure is ready before the festival kicks off on Saturday.
“This festival is a celebration of all that we’ve achieved together — and a chance to keep building a brighter future for Nasinu.”
The Vodafone Nasinu Festival was officially launched on Monday. The festival will be held from October 4 to October 11.
