As the curtains fell on this year’s Hibiscus Festival, Suva is already looking ahead to next year’s platinum jubilee of the country’s longest-running carnival.

The 2025 Hibiscus Festival wrapped up on Saturday, September 27, after a week of colour, culture, and community energy in the capital.

Now in its 69th year, the festival again delivered on its reputation as Fiji’s premier celebration of music, fashion, dance, and heritage.

Despite rain forcing the Miss Hibiscus crowning night indoors at the Suva Civic Centre, organisers pressed on and crowned the new queen to cheers from an enthusiastic crowd.

Throughout the week, themed nights celebrated Fiji’s diversity, featuring youth and Asian, Indian, iTaukei, and Pasifika cultures, while floats and performances lit up the foreshore.
