The Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) has confirmed it is reviewing a docket related to the Ferris wheel accident at the Fiji Showcase earlier this year.
The incident claimed the life of a young woman and severely injured two others.
In response to queries from this newspaper, the ODPP stated it had received the file.
“As per the ODPP internal policy, once a docket is received, a DPP officer is allocated the file and has 21 days to complete a legal opinion which is then submitted to his/her manager for review,” a response from the ODPP stated.
Following this, the ODPP stated the manager then had a further seven days to review the opinion and make recommendations to the DPP, who would then decide on what charges, if any, were to be laid or not.
The ODPP said an update would be provided to all once a decision was made.
