Felt earthquake reported near Savusavu Bay

The Fiji Seismology Unit has issued a felt earthquake information bulletin following a minor earthquake recorded this morning near Savusavu.

According to the bulletin, the earthquake occurred at 11:35am, registering a magnitude of 3.5 at a depth of 10 kilometres.

The epicentre was located approximately 3 kilometres south-southwest of Natuvu Village, within Savusavu Bay, Cakaudrove.

Seismology officials have confirmed that there is no immediate tsunami threat to the Fiji region.

The tremor was felt around the Savusavu Bay area, with some residents reporting light shaking.
