Farina new national soccer coach

Update: 1:50PM FORMER Socceroos coach Frank Farina has been appointed as the Fiji Football Association’s national team coach.

After weeks of rumours of him succeeding Juan Carlos Buzzetti for the top post, Farina finally signed a two-year contract with the Fiji FA executives during a press conference in Ba yesterday.

The key focus for Farina will be to guide the Fiji under-23 team at the 2016 Rio Olympics and the national team during the Oceania playoffs for the Confederations Cup.

Buzzetti’s four-year term ends this December and the Fiji FA board has decided not to renew his term as the parent body heads into a new direction.
