PROUDS, a well-known family-owned luxury shopping outlet invested around half a million dollars into its new outlet at Damodar City Complex in Labasa.

Prouds general manager Reshmi Singh said the outlet employs five staff members, with three of them from Labasa.

“They had worked at other outlets of Prouds,” she said.

Ms Singh said the company plans to hire more staff to meet the needs of the growing business.

“We’re looking to expand our team with local talent to help us serve the community even better. We are looking to hire two more staff to make it seven.”

She said they decided to open an outlet in Labasa in response to public demand.

“Took us two months to set up this outlet.”

The shop’s first customer Sangeeta said he would no longer need to travel to Suva to purchase his favourite branded items.

“We now have access a variety of quality products, including jewellery, fragrances, cosmetics, and fashion accessories, all available under one roof,” he said.

Ms Sangeeta said the shopping outlet was up to international standard.

“They set up this shop like an outlet in Nadi.”

The new store is located beside Lunch Box and the food court at Damodar City Labasa.
