THE family of Imraz Zain Iqbal and seven-year-old Arshad Irfan Khan Junior remain hopeful they will return home safely.
The two are missing following a fishing trip on Sunday afternoon near Vio Island in Lautoka.
Police recovered the body of Arsad’s grandfather, Basant Singh, on Monday and teenager Junaid Shah’s corpse was found yesterday afternoon.
Lone survivor, Abdul Ashif Hakh said their boat capsized after a sudden change in weather on Sunday evening.
Arshad’s father, who also shares the same name, said his son rarely went on fishing trips because he feared the water, but he insisted on going that Sunday.
“He was my only child, and he was a smart boy,” Mr Khan said.
“He always followed his grandfather around.”
Police said the search continued yesterday in waters off Covuli Reef outside Saweni, Lautoka.
Junaid’s mother, Shenaz Shazia Khan said she last spoke to him on Sunday morning.
He attended Year 12 last year but took a gap year to focus on his mechanical repairs business.
“He left at 2pm, he always says goodbye whenever he goes somewhere but that day he never said anything, that was the first time,” she said.
By 10pm, she said, the group were not answering their phones.
“But I still have that hope that he will come back, my heart is still not at peace.”
