Families turned up in numbers to participate in the #StandUpinSolidaritytoProtecttheEnvironment roadside campaign organised by Pacific Recycling Foundation at the Koronivia Rd junction in Nausori on Saturday morning.

Also present were students of Nakaikogo Sanatan Dharam School, Vunimono High School, Jai Narayan College (JNC), and Dilkusha Girls School (DGS) and female student boarders of Lelean Memorial School (LMS).

LMS Veitalacagi hostel co-ordinator Lusiana Valetino said they were grateful to have been invited to be part of the campaign that would help bring justice to the environment.

“I’m here with my 47 hostel girls and we are here this (Saturday) morning to ask the whole of the Fiji, and the world, to try to keep the environment clean,” Ms Valetino said.

A Nakaikogo schoolteacher said they celebrated Environment Day every Wednesday and the campaign would teach participating students more about environmental awareness.
