THE 2026 BIC Fiji FACT tournament will be held at Subrail Park in Labasa, with pool matches set for June 19, 20, and 21.
However, uncertainty surrounds the location of the semi-final and final matches. Initially planned for Subrail Park, the Labasa Town Council is considering a private wedding booking at the venue during that time.
As an alternative, HFC Bank Stadium has been secured as a backup venue.
During the Fiji FA Council meeting on Sunday, CEO Mohammed Yusuf mentioned that Fiji FA will address the matter with the government.
He emphasised the importance of prioritizing the town’s economy, noting that hosting a tournament like the BIC Fiji FACT provides significant benefits to Labasa.
If the issue persists, the semi-finals and final may be moved to HFC Bank Stadium on June 26 and 27.
Yusuf’s comments highlight the potential impact of decision-making on the community and the wider implications for sports events.
The outcome of discussions with the government will determine the final location for the crucial matches of the tournament.
