DEFENDING Extra Battle of the Giants (BOG) champion, Paradise Seafood Supplies Lautoka FC, are facing an injury crisis ahead of their semi-final showdown against Lincoln Rewa FC tomorrow at Subrail Park.

Key players Simione Nabenu, Kishan Sami, Manasa Nawakula, Vanuatu import Rodney Lava, and Shazil Ali are all carrying injuries. Team doctors and physiotherapists are working around the clock to try and get them match-ready in time for the crucial clash.

Lautoka FC president Shalend Prasad said while preparations have been going well, the growing injury list remains their biggest concern.

“We’ve been preparing well, and our medical team is doing everything they can for the recovery of these injured players.

“The two major concerns are Manasa Nawakula and Kishan Sami. We’re crossing our fingers for a positive outcome,” Prasad said.

Despite the setbacks, Prasad confirmed that a group of young players are being prepared to step up if needed.

“We’re also grooming a young brigade who are ready to fill the shoes of the injured. They’ve been training well and are looking forward to the game.”

He acknowledged Rewa’s strength and experience but remains hopeful Lautoka can deliver a strong performance.

“We respect Rewa. They’ve had a core group playing together for some time, but as the reigning champions, we’re determined to reach the final and return home with our heads held high.”

Prasad also extended his best wishes to all teams involved in the semi-finals.

“I wish all four semi-finalists the best of luck. May the best team win.”

Lautoka will take on Rewa at 4:30pm but before that Labasa will play Navua in the first semi-final clash at 2pm.
