FIFTY-two residential lots are available for first time homeowners in the Western Division.
The Housing Authority of Fiji announced the available lots at Tavakubu in Lautoka, and sizes ranged from approximately 229 to 599 square metres.
To be eligible for a lot in Tavakubu, the applicant must be a Fiji citizen, 18 years old and over, a first-time homeowner, must have an annual income of $50,000 or less, and able to purchase the land and build a house.
Potential applicants are advised to submit an expression of interest (EOI) and required documents through the Housing Authority’s Online Portal https://portal.housing.com.fj.
“This is an exceptional opportunity for individuals and families seeking to build their dream home in a prime location in Lautoka,” the authority stated.
It said the location was accessible to schools, hospital, places of worship, restaurants and entertainment venues, and the sporting stadium.
Documents needed to be submitted for evaluation: HA Standard Statutory Declaration, Voter ID or copy of Passport bio-data page, latest payslip stamped by the employer, birth certificate and marriage Certificate, TIN letter or FRCS-FNPF joint card, and a latest FNPF statement.
There are also 17 high-end residential lots also on offer in Tavakubu for those earning above $50,000.
Those lots will be sold later via a separate EOI process.
“For the existing 57 sitting tenants in Tavakubu, the Ministry of Housing and Housing Authority jointly had a consultation session with the sitting tenants and will use the HA Lot Allocation Policy for Sitting Tenants and Informal Settlers.”
The authority also has a home loan package, and it will also facilitate the First Home Ownership Program Grant through the Ministry of Housing.
Applications for the 52 residential lots are due by Friday, May 24, 2024, at midnight.
