Former Flying Fijians residing in France were invited by FIJI Water Flying Fijians head coach, Simon Raiwalui, to help the players during a training session on Wednesday.
Former Flying Fijians halfback and Fijian 7s 2005 World Cup winner Jone Daunivucu was also part of the group that had a run with the Flying Fijians.
“The boys are looking very fit and healthy, and I believe they are ready to head into the World Cup,” the 49-year-old said.
Also part of the session were France-based former Naitasiri player Jo Nasilisili, his son Inoke Nasilisili, and former Flying Fijians and Fiji Warriors lock Sevenaca Tabakanalagi.
Daunivucu has four test matches under his belt while playing for Flying Fijians in 2007 and was also part of the dream team that won the Sevens World Cup in 2005.
“I see them running on the field, and they look ready for the huge challenge that’s ahead of them.”
The Flying Fijians will be facing an uphill battle this weekend as they go up against a France team ranked number three in the world, behind New Zealand and Ireland.
They will then face England on August 27 in their last warm-up match before heading into the world cup.
Meanwhile, the Flying Fijians are in a very tough pool at the world cup with Wales, Georgia, Australia, and Portugal.
