Entrepreneur and small business owner Isimeli Cerelala has welcomed plans for a new jetty site at Natovi in Tailevu.
He said this was a very good step, and one which was long overdue as most parts of the area, from Korovou to Ra, had not been developed fully for economic development.
“This step, if it goes ahead, will assist a lot in the urban drift and create employment in the rural area,” he said.
“It will also pump up economic activities in the rural communities and assist in the development of young people for them to be employed, especially when we have big schools there.”
He said it would be good for the 11,000 people living in the area once a new jetty was constructed.
