There is no doubt we have all grown-up drinking our own favourite flavours of Tang which has been an integral part of people’s daily diet since 1959 and it continues to be the favourite drink of choice for billions of customers across the globe.
While choosing your own individual favourite flavours has been the norm all these years, Motibhai Group which distributes Tang in Fiji has come with an exciting new way of enjoying it.
“We have now come up with the concept of ‘Tang Fusion’ which is a very simple way of enjoying your drink by mixing different flavours together and creating your own favourite taste,” Motibhai Group marketing manager Abraham Gomes says.

He says the concept is officially the first ever to be tried in the world with Fiji leading the initiative for its loyal base of customers country-wide.

Originally formulated by General Foods Corporation food scientist William A. Mitchell, the Tang brand is owned by Mondelz International and marketed in powdered form internationally.

Going down memory lane, Tang was used by earlier NASA manned space flights. In 1962, when Mercury astronaut John Glenn conducted eating experiments in orbit, Tang was selected for the menu. It was also used during some Gemini flights which created an early perception that Tang was developed only for use by astronauts.
“You don’t need to be an astronaut or a rocket scientist to enjoy Tang — thanks to its great taste and international distribution network which means Tang is available everywhere and to everyone,” Mr Gomes said.
