Energy Fiji Limited appoints new chief executive officer

New EFL CEO Fatiaki Gibson – SERAFINA SILAITOGA

Fatiaki Gibson has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Energy Fiji Limited.

He had joined the EFL Board of Directors in April 2024 and will replace longtime CEO, Hasmukh Patel.

At a press conference this morning, Mr Gibson said he was looking forward to lead EFL in the new role.

Mr Gibson is an energy specialist consultant with 34 years of experience in the development of energy sector projects.

He has a post-graduate qualification of Masters in Business Administration and spent over 26 years in the Fiji Electricity Authority which is now Energy Fiji Limited before moving into consultancy.

Mr Gibson has worked with the Government of Vanuatu and the Asian Development Bank as a Project Advisor in the Vanuatu Energy Access Program.

He has also worked extensively within the EFL (formerly FEA) in various technical and development aspects and has a wide knowledge of the local utility, power development projects and plans.
