Punjas Group chief marketing manager Gopal Jadhav said the continued threat of diseases such as leptospirosis, typhoid fever, and dengue fever in Fiji underscored the need for personal hygiene.
This was highlighted during a Punjas handwashing awareness at Korovuto College in Nadi.
Mr Jadhav also announced that Ocean Soaps is donating antibacterial cleansing bars to the Ministry of Health for distribution to schools in the Western Division.
The donation is part of a new hand-washing initiative by the company.
“Ocean Soaps is very proud to be part of this campaign, because we know that good health begins with small, everyday habits,” he said.
“The Ministry of Health is working hard to fight these illnesses but each of us also has a role to play.”
Mr Jadhav emphasised that hand washing with soap is a critical step in preventing the spread of germs.
“Just a quick rinse with water is not enough. Using soap is what actually removes and kills the germs that cause sickness.”
Mr Jadhav noted that the company’s antibacterial products, such as Bodyguard and MedX cleansing bars, are designed to kill germs and prevent the spread of infection.
“That is why today, Ocean Soaps is donating hundreds of Bodyguard antibacterial cleansing bars to the Ministry of Health, who will distribute them to schools across the Western Division.
“Punjas has always stood for quality, pride, and care. Supporting initiatives like this one is part of that same tradition of giving back to the community that has given us so much.
“Your health is in your hands quite literally. Every time you wash your hands with soap, you are protecting yourself, your family, and your friends. Such a small habit can save lives and build a healthier Fiji.”
