The Fiji Meteorological Service says there are eight to 14 tropical cyclones likely in the Regional Specialised Meteorological Centre Nadi-Tropical Cyclone Centre (RSMC Nadi-TCC) area of responsibility between November 2023-April 2024.

And there is above average risk of more severe cyclones in the region in the 2023-2024 cyclone season.

Fiji Met said this in their annual 2023-2024 tropical cyclone outlook released today.

“On average, around seven TCs affect the RSMC Nadi-TCC AoR a season. Thus, this season is predicted to have above average TC activity,” states Fiji Met.
