THE Digicel Suva Volleyball Association will host the Easter Volleyball Championship in Suva next month.
Suva Volleyball is arguably the biggest association in Fiji with a total number of 44 clubs.
“The Easter Championship is the biggest tournament in the volleyball calendar, and Suva volleyball is stepping up this year to organise the games,” said interim general secretary Semaima Lagilagi.
“The association is committed to developing the sport at the grassroots level and this three-day championship will give our registered players an opportunity to expose their talent and also learn from experienced teams who will be participating,” added Lagilagi.
“The sport of volleyball is very popular in our communities and we would like to extend the invitation to associations in the maritime areas and the Northern Division to be part of this championship.”
The three-day event will be held at the National Netball Centre and 60 teams are expected to participate.
Registrations for the championship will close on Monday March 29.
