Parents and guardians applying for the Government’s $200 back-to-school assistance will now find it easier to have their forms verified.
Education Minister Aseri Radrodro says heads of schools are now authorised to sign the forms, in addition to Justices of the Peace.
Speaking in iTaukei following the announcement of government’s back to school support, he told parents that the change should make the process more convenient.
“Na kena vaqarai tiko beka na JP mera sign taka na fomu, vaka sa kacivaki tiko o ira talega na qasenivuli liu sa rawa ni ira sign taka ga na fomu,” Mr Radrodro said. (I reassure parents who are looking for Justices of the Peace to sign the back-to-school forms that, as announced, heads of schools can also sign these forms.)
He said school heads were authorised to confirm the information provided by parents and guardians are accurate.
The ministry expects the change to ease challenges faced by families in rural and maritime areas where accessing a JP is often difficult.
Applications for the 2026 back-to-school assistance opened on November 11 and close on December 12.
