Earthquake occurence in Indonesia

Update: 12:01PM A STRONG earthquake with shallow depth source occurred in the Indonesia region this morning.

The 6.9 magnitude earthquake, which was at a depth of 10 kilometres, occurred at 10:55am.

It was 14km south from Sungaipenuh, 141km south from Padang and 204km northwest from Bengkulu City in Indonesia.

The Mineral Resources Department’s Seismology Unit said the earthquake does not pose any threat to the region and there was also no warning issued from the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii.
