Earthquake felt along Suva–Nausori corridor

A minor earthquake was felt along the Suva–Nausori Corridor this evening, according to an earthquake information bulletin issued by Fiji Seismology.

The earthquake occurred at 6:22:06pm today and registered a magnitude of 3.1 at a depth of 10 kilometres.

Seismology officials reported that the quake was located about one kilometre southeast of Kasavu Village in Naitasiri.

The tremor was classified as a felt event, meaning residents in nearby areas experienced light shaking.

However, based on all earthquake parameters and initial assessments, no damages have been reported as a result of the earthquake.
