The Lautoka sugar mill will have an early closure this year with the Sugar Industry Tribunal announcing a crush termination date of October 7.
Last year the Lautoka mill ended its crushing on November 19, 2023.
Sugar Industry Tribunal, Semi Leweniqila said he made the decision to end the Lautoka mill crushing on October 7 after consulting the Fiji Sugar Corporation.
All growers in the Lautoka mill area have been urged to transport their crop to the Lautoka mill by October 6, 2024.
