Duo for Nadi

NADI football team has been boosted with the services of Antonio Tuivuna and Anish Khem ahead of the 2016 Oceania Football Confederation Champions League.

Tuivuna, who was playing for Suva, has decided to switch with Nadi’s Samuela Drudru in the player transfer window.

Fiji U23 and Nadroga rep Khem has signed with Nadi for the top level club football in the region.

Nadi president Navneeda Goundar said the duo had been granted their release from Fiji Football Association.

“Tuivuna had switched with Drudru and I have given his release to Suva,” he said.

“We exchanged Tuivuna with Drudru for an amount which we could not disclose.

“Looking at Anish (Khem) his release was in a dispute but however we have deposited the money to the Fiji FA and we have been granted his release.”

Goundar said their plan for the OCL had failed after Fiji FA earlier announced no overseas players would be eligible for Suva and Nadi in the competition.

“After winning the national league we had decided to bring overseas players for the competition but our plans have been ruined,” he added.

“We had negotiated with some players who were playing in New Zealand.”
