NADI is aiming to bounce back from its 2-0 loss to Rewa in the Vodafone Premier League when they face Suva at the ANZ Stadium in Suva on Sunday.
Bolstered with the inclusion of former Lautoka striker, Ratu Josefata Dugucagi, the side will leave no stone unturned in its bid to secure their first points of the competition.
Dugucagi will be joined by skipper Vereti Dickson, Rusiate Matarerega, Ame Votoniu and William Valentine as the few experienced players to guide the youth-dominated team.
Acting president Javed Ahmed said the side expected a tough match against the Capital City boys.
He said the players had prepared well knowing they had a tough assignment against the experienced Suva outfit.
“We are excited to have Josefata and he will be starting in the game against Suva,” said Ahmed.
“We are expecting a tough challenge against Suva and the boys have been urged to give their best.
“We need a win after our loss to Rewa in the opening game and we are confident of a good outing.”
Ahmed said the side would miss the services of three key players but was optimistic that the young players in the side were capable replacements.
Striker Napolioni Qasevakatini has applied for his release to join Suva while Mataiasi Toma and Ilimotama Jese are still banned by Fiji FA.
“We have a few upcoming players who have showed their worth at training and we are confident of their chances,” said Ahmed.
“Most of these boys have been playing for Nadi last year and they have slowly adapted to this level of competition.
“We also have few under-20 players in the team and we are looking forward to the game against Suva.”
The game kicks off at 3pm.
