KADAVU remains Fiji’s biggest marijuana producers, with over 3.5 tonnes of green drugs seized from the island last month.
Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu said the haul from Kadavu was part of the 4.9 tonnes of marijuana seized nationwide in March.
He said the war on drugs was a “life or death” situation and the police was committed to “joining the dots” to build cases against purported kingpins.
Mr Tudravu also expressed concerns about the large amount of drug cultivation that continues in areas like Kadavu.
“The legitimisation of the money that is received from this illegal means — that is the worry that we are having now,” he said.
