The Fijian Drua Women have secured a home semi-final spot in the Super Rugby W with a commanding 50-17 win over the Queensland Reds today.
The Drua scored seven tries, five conversions, and a penalty, while the Reds managed three tries and one conversion.
The forwards dominated the set-piece, providing quality ball for a deadly backline led by flyhalf Varanisese Qoro’s tactical brilliance and inside centre Josivini Naihamu’s fierce intensity.
Despite the strong win, coach Mike Legge will want his team to maintain intensity and discipline after a second-half dip allowed the Reds to fight back.
With a bye week before the semi-final, the Drua have time to sharpen their game and edge closer to Super Rugby W glory.
