Swire Shipping Fijian Drua head coach Glen Jackson has paid tribute to outgoing head of athletic performance, Nacanieli Cawanibuka, who will be leaving the Super Rugby Pacific franchise at the end of the month.

Cawanibuka, a respected figure in Fijian rugby circles and former strength and conditioning coach for the Fiji 7s team, has been with the Drua since their entry into Super Rugby in 2022.

“Naca has been unbelievable for us around not only the organisation, but the set-up of where we came from.

“Obviously, his experience through Fiji Rugby 7s, and then go back to Fiji Rugby, I think, it is awesome for him.”

Jackson described Cawanibuka’s presence over the past four years as invaluable, both on and off the field, contributing to the team’s growth and professionalism.

“We know we’ll still see a lot of him.

“But, yeah, it’s definitely been a great four years to have Naca next to us, and we’re hoping that we can finish on a good note for him,” he added.

The Drua will wrap up their 2025 Super Rugby Pacific campaign this weekend, and the team is aiming for a strong finish to honour Cawanibuka’s contribution before his departure.
