THE Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will be without two players as they prepare for their 2026 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific clash against the Brumbies this Saturday at 4R Stadium, Govind Park in Ba.
Head coach Glen Jackson confirmed that a couple of players are currently dealing with injuries following their round three match.
Jackson said Epeli Momo suffered a hamstring injury during their previous game and has not fully recovered in time for the Brumbies encounter.
“Epeli Momo went off with a bit of a hamstring injury and he hasn’t quite recovered from that,” Jackson said.
He also confirmed that Kavaia Tagivetaua will miss the match after sustaining an ankle injury.
“Kavaia Tagivetaua unfortunately has done a bit of an ankle injury, so he’s out as well,” Jackson added.
Despite the setbacks, Jackson said the team is largely in good shape heading into the weekend’s historic match in Ba.
He said the rest of the squad has recovered well and selection remained competitive as the coaching staff finalised the team.
“Other than that, we’re pretty good around our injuries and it made selection reasonably hard.”
Jackson also noted that the coaching staff have mostly stuck with the squad that played against the Hurricanes, with the injured players being the only changes.
The Drua will be hoping the rest of the squad remains fit as they prepare for what is expected to be a tough contest against the Brumbies in front of a big home crowd in Ba.
The match kicks off at 3.30pm.
