TAILEVU North College’s future looks bright, with two of its youngest athletes eager to make their mark at the upcoming Coca-Cola Games.

Sub-junior girls javelin thrower Rosana Dretirua says the journey to the Games has been demanding but rewarding.

“Preparation has been tough, but I’m really happy the Games are finally here so I can show all the hard work I’ve put in,” she said.

Dretirua added that her coaches have played a key role in her mental preparation, constantly reminding her to stay composed.

“They’ve been telling me not to be afraid or distracted by the crowd, and just to give my best and leave everything on the field.”

Meanwhile, junior boy’s middle-distance runner Mosese Elo Vuetibau is quietly confident heading into his 1500 metres event.

He highlighted that his preparation has focused heavily on race management.

“Training has been going well, especially learning how to manage my run,” Vuetibau said. “My biggest goal is to win a medal.”

Both young athletes acknowledged the unwavering support of their parents as a major driving force behind their journey to the Games, crediting them for the sacrifices and encouragement that have helped them reach this stage.

With determination and youthful energy on their side, the duo will be among the athletes to watch as Tailevu North College looks to stamp its presence at this year’s competition.
