DREKETI football welcomes Fiji Football Association’s (FFA) assistance with open arms.
Coach Gordon Johan Leewai made this statement after what FFA acting president Tarunesh Reddy said earlier of their interest to assist minnow districts in order to make them more competitive in major tournaments.
“Of course we are always grateful and are waiting for them with open arms and if they have the opportunity to do that than we are always happy to be there for them,” Leewai said.
He said their coaching staff would always be willing to work with the FFA technical teams in order to improve their team’s performance.
This was his response to what Reddy had earlier said, “Our technical department are working very closely with the officials of Rakiraki and Dreketi but on the same note as I have said it before. We need the co-operation of the district officials too.We are there to help and at the same time the district officials should understand where we are coming from.
“Our plan is to develop football in all the districts we can see that in the six premier grades but our aim is to lift Dreketi and we are working towards that.
“Our technical department is seriously looking in to that and we are trying to figure out how we can help.
According to Leewai they want to improve their player’s skills .
