DREKETI football coach Johan Leewai says they will be a different side this year as players have been putting in their 100 per cent in their daily training.
The side was promoted to the Fiji Football Association’s Premier Division in 2015 and since then the side had been recording mixed results.
“We have improved a lot since being promoted to the premier division and we have prepared well for the 2017 season,” he said.
“We had a good start to our league campaign with a 3-2 win over Rakiraki and then we lost to Nadi in the second match. We could have played much better provided the ground condition was good. We were unfortunate against Nadi where we also lost Peni Sokia through red card, but nevertheless we will continue to work on areas we need to improve on.”
Leewai said he was happy with the attitude of the players.
“We have been having a good turnout at training daily,” he added.
“The players show a lot of commitment and dedication towards the team.”
The match between Dreketi and Labasa has been called off by Fiji FA because of the repair work at the Subrail Park in Labasa. In the lone match, Fiji Gold Suva will host Lautoka at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori on Sunday.
