DPM Prasad commends golf tourney

THE Ba Golf Community received praises from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Biman Prasad for their dedication to promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle through the annual 4 Men Ambrose Golf Tournament in Ba.

In his address at the event, Professor Prasad emphasised the unifying power of sports in bringing people together and fostering a strong sense of camaraderie and teamwork.

He also highlighted the importance of sports in maintaining good health, especially in the face of the increasing prevalence of non-communicable diseases in Fiji.

“Sports bring people together. It creates a sense of camaraderie, togetherness, and teamwork,” said Prasad.

“It’s also important for our health, especially as we continue to face the growing challenge of non-communicable diseases in Fiji.”

The Minister commended both the organisers and participants of the tournament for their commitment to upholding the sporting culture in Ba, noting the increasing participation of young golfers and women in the event.

He emphasised the significant role of youth involvement in recreational sports in creating a healthier and more connected society.

“Seeing young people involved in sports like golf is a great sign. It’s not only good for building relationships but also essential for one’s well-being.”

The 4 Men Ambrose Golf Tournament, which attracted participants from various regions, serves as a platform to promote golf as a recreational sport while fostering community engagement and unity in Ba.
