Tailevu Doves is still searching for its first win in the FinanceHub Super League after suffering its second defeat in round two over the weekend.
First timers into the league, the side went down 34-65 to Baby Pearls Team Kikau which registered its first win of the season.
Reflecting on the team’s performance, Tailevu Netball president Saini Soroacagi said it had been a good learning curve for the players so far.
“In round one we lost to Lautoka and in round two we lost again to Team Kikau but, in both matches, we have been able to gauge both our strengths and weaknesses.
“The girls train together every day, but we are still picking up weakness in court which is okay because that’s how we learn and better ourselves in the next game,” Sorocagi said.
Looking at other results from round two, Nasinu Tactix defeated Nadroga Stallions 55-42, and defending champion Suva Swifts IGA bagged its second win with a 65-44 over Baby Pearls Team Kacau.
Lautoka Stars proved too strong for Nadi 49-29. In the third round of matches scheduled for July 13, Suva will take on Tailevu Doves, Baby Pearls Team Kacau meets Nadroga Stallions, Nadi faces Baby Pearls Team Kikau, while Nasinu Tactix is up against Lautoka Stars.
