Doge takes it in his stride

ONE Year in the Telecom Fiji Warriors and now making the Vodafone Flying Fijians squad seems too fast for Macuata man, Mesake Doge.

At 23, Doge is taking the opportunity with big strides as he aims to make John Mckee’s 23-man line-up in the Flying Fijians June Tests.

And for the young prop, he knows that he still has a lot to learn. Being with players who have been capped a couple of times, Doge hopes to make use of the opportunity in front of him.

“This is my first PNC. I started playing rugby at Rakiraki District School before I went to QVS and later joined Naitasiri Rugby and had a stint with a New Zealand club last year,” Doge said.

“My first taste of becoming a Warrior was this year and now to make the 28-man squad is something that has come earlier then expected, but it is one that I am grateful to make use of.”
