THE Fiji under-16 rugby team is in a do or die situation as it heads into the pool match today in the Australian Inter-State Rugby Championship at the Gold Coast.

After losing 5-61 to champion Queensland Reds on Tuesday, the Fijian schoolboys team will have to defeat the U16 ACT Brumbies convincingly to finish second in the pool and qualify to play for third or fourth position.

Queensland Reds will go through as the top seed leaving Fiji, ACT and NSW 2 to fight for second place in the pool.

This would be a great improvement from last year where Fiji lost all its pool matches to play for seventh and eight position.

Fiji will play ACT Brumbies today at the Southport School, Gold Coast Australia.
