THE University of Fiji’s women students topped the graduation numbers on Friday with 186 of the 283 graduates; 97 were men.

University Pro-Chancellor Pundit Bhuwan Dutt told the graduation ceremony at the Saweni campus in Lautoka that this diverse representation was a testament to the inclusive environment that UniFiji promotes.

“It signals a bright future filled with potential,” Mr Dutt said.

“The university’s goals have always been to provide students with a quality education that teaches not just academic knowledge but also human values, preparing you to be decent citizens as well as effective professionals.”

Mr Dutt said education helped people gain a deeper understanding of the world, making more considerate and humble individuals equipped to navigate the complexities of life.

“Today, as you step forward from this ceremony, you are not just graduates; you are leaders, innovators, and change-makers in your communities.”
