THE FIJI Water Flying Fijians are expected to host Scotland this year in Suva.

The Fiji Rugby Union confirmed in a statement that talks are still underway in regards to this match as well as the probable Test against the Australian Wallabies in July.

“Our team is in discussion with Rugby Australia and Scotland Rugby Union for potential test matches with their men’s national team mid-year. We will make a formal announcement once the FRU solidifies and puts pen to paper and finalise an agreement for these test matches to kick-off,” the statement read.

Discussions also continue for the probable Test against France in November.

If the Test against Scotland is confirmed, it is expected to be held at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva on July 12.

Scotland’s tour of Fiji can be dated back to 1993 where the Scots defeated the national side 21-10 at the national stadium in Suva on May 29.

A week before that Scotland XV played Fiji B at Prince Charles Park in Nadi and won 14-7.

They also played in Fiji during their Summer Tour of 1998 where the Flying Fijians created history at the national stadium in Suva with a 51-26 win.
