The Rewa Football Association president, Nazeel Buksh, hailed the Delta Tigers’ remarkable achievement of clinching both the FMF IDC and Extra Super Premier League titles as a profound testament to the enduring values of discipline, faith, and unity that have been deeply ingrained in the district for generations.
In his address at Rewa’s celebratory event held at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori on Saturday, Buksh emphasised that the team’s triumph was not a stroke of luck but rather the result of years of unwavering commitment and unwavering belief in one another.
Reflecting on their historic victory at the 4R Stadium in Ba, where the Delta Tigers proudly hoisted the IDC trophy before a record Fijian football audience, Buksh underscored the team’s core values of discipline, solidarity, and the indomitable spirit of Rewa. He attributed their success to a dedicated, long-term commitment rather than mere fortune, highlighting that the victory was a product of tough decisions and unwavering trust among team members.
“What we achieved at 4R Stadium in Ba was historic. In front of a record Fijian football crowd, our boys lifted the IDC trophy and reminded the country what the Delta Tigers are made of discipline, togetherness, and that unbreakable Rewa spirit.”
Buksh expressed his heartfelt appreciation to sponsors such as Stratum Construction, Pro Play, Fortec Construction, Ajay Trading, Lincoln Refrigeration, and Extra Supermarket, acknowledging their invaluable support that allowed the players the freedom to excel on the field. He recognised the pivotal role played by Saraswati School in providing training facilities and instilling discipline within the squad.
Looking towards the future, Buksh unveiled Rewa FC’s revised focus on infrastructural development and youth nurturing, outlining plans for a new clubhouse, home ground, and a specialised academy aimed at fostering both football talent and future leaders.
Buksh confirmed the district’s ambitious goal of joining the OFC Pro League within the next four years, deeming it an achievable target propelled by unity and strategic planning.
