ALL eyes will be on out Fiji Airways Fiji men’s sevens team when they defend their title this Saturday at the Dubai 7s tournament.

With talent and experience in abundance, head coach Osea Kolinisau understands that discipline and communication will take precedence if the team is to claim back-to-back titles this weekend.

“Discipline is very important especially in this game and your communications has to be clear, you know we are doing a lot of that during training,” said Kolinisau.

“We making sure that the boys understand that if we do undisciplined things in the games, we get a yellow card. And the boys will get punished for that yellow card, one player is down, and the rest must work hard for that player.”

“If it gets to that point where we get a yellow card, players know which player will go to the forwards or backs and what shape we are going to adopt, but we’ve been telling the boys we need to be disciplined during the game and we want to have seven players always on the field.”

Good communication will also be crucial if the team is to execute their game plan properly this weekend.

“We cannot play silently, I told the boys it makes it harder when we tired and we not talking and it leads to two players going for one player.

“We need to be clear when we tired our comms need to clear and everybody understand what we are doing.”

Fiji will take on Argentina at 9.10pm on Saturday in their first game of the Dubai 7s.
