Disaster relief hospital to be constructed at Black Rock

A LEVEL two hospital to assist in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief will be constructed at Black Rock in Nadi.

Deputy Secretary for Defence and National Security Ilai Moceica confirmed this saying the project would be handled by the Ministry of Health.

He said the hospital would be utilized to address required medical assistance from surrounding areas in times of an emergency and national crisis.

“As you know there a lot of people residing near Black Rock who will use the hospital and to cater for our men who will be leaving or preparing for deployment,” Mr Moceica said.

The budget of the whole project funded by the Australian Government is yet to be determined.
