Diaspora’s Canadian security company expands to Fiji

A former fijian national operating a security business in Canada has expanded his operations to Fiji offering a global standard of security excellence and trusted protection in the country.

Metropolitan Security Canada president and chief executive officer Abhi Prasad who now resides in Canada launched his business Metropolitan Security Fiji in Suva last weekend – and has assured to pay his workers higher than the minimum wage, medical cover and education provisions.

His business in Canada has been operating for the past 26 years and now employs some 264 employees who he said all upheld the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in the security industry.

He said his business – Metropolitan Security Services – was established in Canada in 2000 with a clear vision to provide professional, reliable and world-class security services.

“Our company operates with a fully licensed security business licence in Canada and we bring the same professional standards and operational excellence as we expand into Fiji,” Mr Prasad said.

“The establishment of Metropolitan Security Fiji is not just about expanding a business. It is about building partnerships, creating employment opportunities, and contributing to the safety and development of Fiji.

“Our goal is to train and develop professional security personnel, bring international standards to the industry, and provide reliable protection for businesses, communities, and major events across the country.

“As we officially launch our operations here, we look forward to building strong relationships within Fiji and serving this beautiful nation with commitment, professionalism, and excellence.”

Metropolitan Security Fiji will offer site security officer division, special event officers, close protection division, concierge security services, and mobile security division.

The security business has also partnered with a former senior police officer of 37 years Anil Chand who will take on the position of chief operating officer.
