THE Fiji Architects Association and the Construction Industry Council are collaborating for the first Fiji Architecture Conference and Trade Exhibition 2025.

Held at the Sheraton Fiji Resort and Spa in Denarau, the event will feature the country’s construction and architectural designers and engineers over the three days that will officially begin this evening with an opening ceremony.

Fiji Architects Association president Adish Naidu said discussions would centre around Fiji’s construction and architectural landscape and legislations.

“One of the great things about the conference is that we will have cabinet ministers who will also be making presentations,” Mr Naidu said.

“We will focus on Fiji’s building codes and the housing issues that we have at the moment.

“Participants can expect a good few days of discussions that we hope will inspire participants.”

Speakers at the event will include Professor Philip Cox AO – COX Architecture Australia who will focus on the theme Redefining Pacific Architecture in the Face of Climate Change.

Also speaking on Friday is Dr Soumen Maity and Robert Smith who will focus on the theme Blue Concrete: Limestone Calcined Clay Cements – Relevance to Fiji.

Mr Naidu says a diverse range of speakers have been lined for the two-day event that will end on Saturday.

Ministerial speakers will include Housing Minister Maciu Nalumisa, Minister for Infrastructure Ro Filipe Tuisawau and Finance Minister Esrom Immanuel.

According to the association, conference highlights will include keynote speakers and panel discussions where speakers will share their opinions on emerging trends, sustainable practices, and cutting-edge technologies shaping the built environment.

The trade shows will include innovative exhibits and trade showcases where participants will discover the latest products, services, and solutions from leading industry brands.

The conference also offers networking opportunities for participants to connect with architects, designers, engineers, and construction professionals in an inspiring setting.
